Impressive. Most impressive.

LEGO Star Wars Clone Nintendo Wii

LEGO Star Wars Clone Nintendo Wii

I'm somewhat of a mismatched person when it comes to Lego Star Wars game s.html" target="_blank">game s . I have I and II on the PS2, the Complete Saga on the 360, and now III on the Wii. I have a feeling that if a Lego Star Wars IV comes out, I'll buy that on the PS3 or the PC.

Well, onto the actual game now. If you enjoyed I and II (or, alternatively, if you enjoyed The Complete Saga), then III is just right. It kept a lot of things from the previous game s.html" target="_blank">game s . Jedi still use the Force to build things, and normal people still put things together by hand, although now Jedi cannot, and must use the Force. When you get down to it, they do the same thing anyway, so it's not a big loss. II introduced vehicles in on-foot missions, and now III introduces on-foot portions in vehicle missions, so there are no "vehicle" or "on-foot" missions anymore, and both can be used in most if not all missions.

Red power bricks, first introduced in II, make a return, but are no longer contained in the missions themselves. Instead, they are presented around the two (count 'em, two) hubs you get between missions. One is the Resolute, Anakin's flagship, and the other is the Invisible Hand, General Grievous' ship. Around both ships are people that just randomly walk around that you can buy if you have enough studs. Some of them have to be let out of the brig, even. The other way (besides getting them through missions, like before) to obtain characters is by minikits, no longer vehicles like they used to be.

A new addition to the series is assault missions. These are missions where you run around and steal bases, set up your own where the enemy's base used to be, and create vehicle spawn points, cannons, shield generators - the works. Not only are they a good deal of one character's mission strand, they also get their own two sections, where you play as the Republic and the Confederacy, and have to preform a specific objective to succeed.

The main story missions are all (but three) based on episodes from the animated series. I was a little disappointed that they picked a couple episodes I don't like, like "Blue Shadow Virus" and "The Gungan General", but most of them were good episodes that translated... well okay, into the game . One episode, "Storm Over Ryloth" is almost completely contained in the cutscene that plays before the mission. Two missions are based on Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and one is based on the last third of The Clone Wars movie.

All in all, this game is just as fun as the others, and just as funny (for some reason, a lot of people at the Geonosian Arena are eating ice cream cones). Wii controls work just as fine as on the other two consoles I've played the series on, with pointer controls used for precision aiming and lightsaber throwing.

The game has 130 gold bricks (obtained by completing missions, getting True Jedi status, and collecting minikits), 132 characters and 18 red power bricks, so there's a lot to collect in this game . Not to mention each main story level has 10 minikit pieces to collect, as well as True Jedi status, so you're gonna be playing this game for a while.

  1. I was wondering if the sports pack is really necessary or if you even need them. And will the light sabers work with the lego star wars game? What is everything you need to start out?
