I purchased this water pump to replace the original failed unit (coolant dripping from the weep hole) on my 2003 Chevy Tahoe with the 5.3 non-flex. The pump was boxed inside a box which was nice. Prime $3.99 next day shipping was also a plus. This pump is "Made in Canada" and is OEM GM. It comes with everything you need including 2 reusable gaskets and the 2 bolts for the water inlet housing. You will need to reuse the 6 original mounting bolts though.
While looking ALMOST identical to the original pump, the thermostat/water inlet is slightly smaller on the new pump. The original thermostat is integral to the original inlet and it's physically too big to fit in the new pump. Luckily I purchased GM Part # 12600172 ACDelco 15-11057 Water Pump Inlet from Amazon at the same time. Together they are a perfect fit.

The water pump is very high quality and fit perfectly on my 2003 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L. The new pump came with two new thermostat bolts and high quality gaskets. The manual said to torque the bolts to 22 foot pounds and I also used medium strength blue lock tight. My original pump lasted 10 years and 110K so that's why I'm sticking with a new GM part. Update 5/6/13 The first pump failed it had a leak at the top metal pipe where it connects to the pump. After calling Amazon and speaking to several people then a manager I got the pump warrantied. Amazon can be tricky with auto part sales because of there 30 day money back guaranty even when the manufacture warranties the item for a year. This may be a problem for me buying auto parts from Amazon again.

I replaced the water pump on my 2003 Suburban LS, 5.3L Vortec, Flex Fuel with rear A/C and heater. This is an exact direct fit. I took it to my mechanic to get this done but actually it is not a big deal to do it yourself. I also bought ACDelco 15-11057 Water Pump Inlet. The water pump inlet comes with thermostat. This is a must have, the original thermostat will not fit in to this pump. This pump is "Made in Canada" which is nice and I am really happy still we can see stuff around, that are made in the USA (bought a Denso A/C compressor for the same truck that was made is USA) and Canada. This Pump comes with everything you need including 2 gaskets and the 2 bolts for the water pump inlet housing. Please reuse the 6 original mounting bolts for the pump. Please do not buy water pump gasket ACDelco 251-663. The pump comes with required 2 of these gaskets. Please do not waste your money buying the bolt GM 11516480. It is ridiculously priced and you don't need that for this pump.
